This amazing vegan vanilla frosting is a great example! It has the perfect consistency for decorating too. Some of the other vegan recipes I’ve tried the icing just gets greasy and sort of melts off. It certainly isn’t the best for your daily diet! -Brianna.

It is the best marshmallow fluff icing. Powdered sugar is also called confectioners sugar. Hope that helps answer your question!

It all comes down to a judgement call, juggling the food safety aspect vs. the convenience and texture of keeping the vegan frosting at room temperature. Happy tears.
Any non-hydrogenated palm shortening will work fine, try to avoid ones that have any ingredients other than palm oil. It may take a few hours for it to thaw to room temperature, so plan for that.

Be careful when adding the dairy free milk to not add too much. I prefer using a sustainably-sourced palm shortening since they are non-hydrogenated.
Mix on low/stir until completely incorporated. We’ve used raspberry jam, also. Add the sugar one cup at a time and blend in between. When ready to use, let it sit at room temperature for 10 minutes, and re-whip with a stand mixer to make it light and fluffy again for decorating.
