you really dont need to even have a shovel, theres a slightly faster way with the torch method iv discovered. TNT is just dumb, because you need four sand per TNT and you'll end up getting around 8 sand per TNT blast. You will need to be careful because there's quite a bit of lava around, but it's obviously worth it for a quick 10 diamonds right when you start a game. You might even find more because of how big this underground area expands. One of the nice features of this one is the savanna village that is partially on a hill with a waterfall on it. the village with coral reef is a big lie, I thought it was gonna be cool because of how many diamonds it say there is.

Finding Bedrock seeds with double spawners are pretty hard to find, so this one is pretty unique. Not only that, there's a village very close by, as well as a Witch Hut that you can use for potions or maybe taming a black cat!

Not too far from there is another ravine with more diamond! The Nether is amazing too. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, an opinion cant be awful. You aren't too far from resources though, you can find a couple of islands with trees and there's some larger landmasses. There's an additional spawner nearby this one, so you aren't going to be hurting for finding spots to farm monsters. Note that the Cactus block can only be placed on Sand.
